Getting there
- Fly directly to Santorini (Thira) International Airport during high season.
- Alternatively, fly to Athens and take a ferry from Piraeus or Rafina.
- High-speed ferries connect Santorini with Mykonos, Paros and other Cyclades islands.
- Always book transport in advance for July–August.
Local tips
- Wear comfortable shoes — many paths in Oia and Fira include steps and cobblestones.
- Carry water and sun protection in summer months.
- Use the local bus network to travel between Fira, Oia and the beaches — it’s budget-friendly.
- Be respectful when photographing churches and private terraces.
